Il s'agit du premier zoom pour les appareils hybrides plein format (monture Sony FE) à avoir une ouverture maximale de F/2. Avec cette plage focale, les photographes pourront réaliser des prises de vue au grand angle 35 mm et des gros plans à 150 mm.
